Application Procedures for Use and Event Permits
Current for 2018
NOTE: A new permit will be coming out soon. It will be a combined permit for both the Parks Department and the Board of Works. 
You may fill out the following application and submit it via  e-mail, mail or in person to the Park office at 201 S. Second Street, Elkhart, IN 46516.

Additional items needed may include:

1.  501 (C) 3 Form-not-for-profit organizations
2.  Certificate of Insurance Liability-minimum of $3,000,000 coverage.
NO Vending Permits will be issued in 2018

Directions to Park Board Minutes
  1. If you are on the city homepage (, select the top left tab titled “Government.”
  2. From there, select “Common Council.”
  3. Near the bottom of that page, you will see “News,” “Related Pages,” and “Agendas and Minutes.”
  4. Select “Agenda and Minutes.”
  5. Select “Regular City Council Meeting of November 20, 2017,” under #6, Acceptance of Communications, you will find Minutes of October 10, 2017 Parks & Recreation Board.
  6. For the prior month’s minutes, select “Regular City Council Meeting of October 16, 2017” and so on. 

The Board of Parks and Recreation is composed of four members, with the President of the Board serving as the presiding Officer of the Board.  Each member is appointed by the Mayor and serves a four-year term. The Board receives the budget, holds any hearings required by law and approves the award of all contracts.
