Vermicomposting Workshop
Tuesday, November 17 at
6pm
Do you want to learn about worm composting? Come to the Elkhart Environmental Center on Tuesday, November 17th at 6:00pm for a vermicomposting workshop. You will be able to take home your own compost bin. The cost is $15/bin. Space is limited. Please register by calling 293-5070.
 
Dream Workshop
Wednesday, November 18 at 6pm
Have you ever had a dream and wondered what it meant? Join the Elkhart Environmental Center and Ray of Light Holistic Health for a Dream Workshop on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 6:00pm at the Elkhart Environmental Center. Learn about dreams and how to get the most from our sleep. Please call to register at 574-293-5070.
 
Preschool Prowl: Fall Leaves
Thursday, November 19 at 11am
Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) are invited to learn about nature! You and your child will take a hike, make a craft, and read a story $3/child. Register at 293-5070.
 
Holiday Naturals - Ornaments
Saturday, December 5 from 1-2:30pm
Join us as we get creative with cones, teasel and other natural items. Each participant will complete at least six ornaments. All supplies are provided, but please feel free to bring any additional natural items from your yard that you have to share. $8 per person donation. Please call to register.
 
Healthy Life SeriesPart 1: Holiday Cooking with the Environmental Center Tuesday, December 15 at 6pm
Learn about eating healthy & for the environment this holiday season while you make easy holiday snacks. Bring your own recipes to share with others. This is not a cooking class but a great way to take a break from the holiday rush, trade secrets and take care of the environment. $5 donation is appreciated.
 
Healthy Home Healthy Environment
Tuesday, January 12 from 6-7:30p
Can having a healthy home help the environment? It sure can! Start the year off right by making your house a healthy home and help the environment at the same time. We will be learning various methods of improving your home's health and making simple projects such as environmentally friendly cleaners and draft dodgers that will be sure to help your home make a positive impact on the earth. $5 per person donation appreciated. Healthy Life Series Part 2: New Year's Resolution - Exercise Workshop
Tuesday, January 19 at 6pm
Keep your New Year's Resolution and get some tips on how to work exercise into your busy day. Dress comfortably. Free
 
Preschool Prowl: Animal Yoga
Thursday, January 21 at 11am
Preschoolers (ages 3 - 5) and their parent are invited to share a learning experience with us! Your preschooler will have fun learning animal yoga poses with Mary from Ray of Light Holistic Health. If weather permits, we'll also take a walk in search of wildlife.  A $3 per child donation is appreciated. Register by calling 293-5070.
 
Science Alive
Saturday, February 6 from 9am to 4pm
Bring the family to the St. Joseph County Library and support the Elkhart Environmental Center at the annual science extravaganza. For more information call 574-282-4600.

Meditation from the Heart - Couples Touch Class
Wednesday, February 10 at 6pm
Bring your sweetheart out and learn to relax together during this hands-on presentation about meditation and massage with Ray of Light. Space is limited for this romantic workshop. Program is for couples and makes a great date. Please call to register.

 
Healthy Life Series Part 3: Ditch Your Stress
Tuesday, February 16 at 6pm

If the winter months are bringing you down, come and have some fun doing some stress relieving activities. Dress comfortably and leave your worries at the door. $3 donation is appreciated.
