From the U.S.20 Bypass, U.S.33 exit: When you exit the Bypass you will want to go North into Elkhart. U.S.33 ends here and becomes Main St. Follow Main until you come to the railroad tracks. The NYCRR Museum is just before the tracks on the lefthand side of the road.

From IN.933 (Old U.S.33) LINCOLNWAY, (From the West, South Bend and Mishawaka): Bring Lincolnway into Elkhart, past the Norfolk Southern, Elkhart classification yard. Lincolnway becomes Franklin. Take Franklin to Main St. in downtown Elkhart and turn right Stay in the right lane and cross the railroad tracks then immediately turn right into the NYCRR Museum's parking lot.

As you may have noticed all the directions indicate the Museum is next to railroad tracks. This is Norfolk Southern territory now, mainline to Chicago, ex-Conrail, ex-NYC Water Level Route. If you are a railfan, our facility is right next to the tracks. We have a platform that borders a fence, and is raised to allow you to photograph or video trains as they go by.
