Recreational Venues

  • SkateparkMartin Skate Parks - where youngsters will slappy, grind and enjoy fakieing. Be spellbound and watch the cab, casper, and nollie as they use banks, quarter-pipes and rails. Thrills and spills are part of feeling stoked. Please observe the following rules and then grab your skateboard and come on over to Martin Skate Parks located at 400 Riverview Avenue and Elkhart's newest park - 119 West Wolf Avenue. Skateboarding and in-line skating are hazardous recreational activities; use of the facility is at your own risk; use of ANSI-approved helmet is required; all participants are responsible for knowing and obeying the rules - which are posted at the Park.
  • Softball: Softball leagues are available in the spring and fall for men and co-ed teams. We offer both competitive and recreational leagues.  Interested individuals may call the Park Office for more information.

  • Tennis courts are available free of charge at McNaughton, High Dive, Pinewood and Pierre Moran Parks.

Fishing Opportunities
Opportunities to fish the St. Joseph River are available in Beardsley, Edgewater (which is handicapped accessible), Island, Langle, Lundquist-Bicentennial, Martin's Landing, McNaughton (which is handicapped accessible) and Pulaski Parks.

Fishing opportunities for the Elkhart River exist in American, Baker and Studebaker Parks, as well as along the RiverWalk.

Pond fishing is available at Hayden Parks.

High Dive Park has fishing opportunities in three interconnecting ponds, as well as along Christiana Creek as does Willowdale Park.

St. Joseph River boat launches are located at Sherman Street, McNaughton and Edgewater Parks.

An Elkhart River boat launch is located at Studebaker Park.
