Short-term Closures:

NEW!Weather permitting the City of Elkhart Street Department will close the following roads as during the week of June 24, 2019:

  • Monday, June 24 Carlton Ave. from Pleasant Plain Ave. to Mather Ave.
  • Tuesday, June 25 Carlton Ave. from Morehouse Ave to Roys Ave.
  • Wednesday, June 26 Glenview Dr. closed at CR 6 entrance

  • Thursday, June 27 Dexter Dr. from CR 6 to just north of All Pro Dr.
  • Friday, June 28 Lillian Dr. from CR 6 to just north of All Pro Dr.

Please use caution when traveling in these areas for everyone’s safety.

Long-term Closures:

Beginning Monday, March 18 through then end of June, E. Jackson Blvd will be closed between Easy Shopping Place and Johnson/Prairie for Phase 3 improvements.  A detour will be posted.  Please check the map for detour information by clicking here.

Beginning Monday, September 10, 2018 Norfolk Southern will close the intersection of Oakland Ave and Indiana Ave to replace the railroad bridge.  The project is expected to be completed in February 2019.  A detour will be posted and can be found with this link...https://tinyurl.com/ybkmopen


Permanent Road Closures:

Beginning Tuesday, October 18, 2016 McPherson Street between Dearborn St. and Conn Ave. will be closed indefinitely.  This section of street has been vacated.  

Beginning Tuesday, April 4, 2016 the Monroe St. Railroad Crossing will be closed indefinitely.

Beginning, Wednesday, December 16, 2015, the McDonald St. Railroad Crossing will be closed indefinitely. This intersection is near S. Main Street and Richmond Street.
