The primary role of Elkhart Police Department Chaplain’s Committee is to provide emotional and spiritual support to officers and their families. When possible, members also work to assist victims of crime and those experiencing tragedy by connecting them to resources that will assist them in their time of need. Our Mission simply stated is, “Serving those who serve.”

Consisting of six volunteer chaplains, two officers and two civilian employees, Committee members fulfill a number of functions to include making death notifications, supporting officers/ community members during critical incidents, encouraging departmental personnel as they face career and family challenges, hosting events to refresh officers and their families, and serving as a liaison to members of the community.
